- How long will it take to receive my DCPA training materials?
Please allow
about two weeks
from the date you placed your order to receive your materials.
- Is there a time limit in which I must submit my completed exam?
You may submit your exam to us at any time.
- What must I send in with my completed exam?
Please send your registration form with your completed form.
- Can I fax or email my completed exam and registration form to DCPA?
We request that you mail your completed exam and registration form to our office. We will not accept materials by email or fax.
- Can I find out my score and any incorrect answers on the exam?
At your request, we would be happy to provide you with your exam score; however, DCPA does not release specific information about exam answers.
- If I do not pass the exam, can I take it again?
You may re-take the exam at no extra cost.
- What happens once I pass the exam for Series 1 and/or Series 2?
Once you pass either exam, we will send you a welcome packet. This packet includes a welcome letter, DCPA membership card, DCPA certificate, and a DCPA Qualified Dementia Care Provider and/or Qualified Dementia Care Specialist pin, respectively.
- Can I take DCPA Series 2 without taking Series 1?
Successful completion of DCPA Series 1 leads to qualification as a Dementia Care Provider. In order to receive DCPA qualification as a Dementia Care Specialist, you must pass the Series 1 exam before moving on to Series 2.
- I’d like to train my staff. Do you offer group discounts on DCPA training?
DCPA offers discounts on group training, depending on the number of individuals who will be trained. We would be happy to discuss this with you. Please contact us.
- If my organization is a member organization of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, is there a membership discount for DCPA training?
A discount on DCPA training is one of many benefits of AFA membership. We would be happy to discuss this with you.

- My qualification has expired. What is the renewal process?
DCPA will send you a renewal form in the mail as a reminder that your qualification is about to expire. In order to renew your qualification, you must demonstrate four hours of continuing education and submit a payment of $25. This renews your qualification for two years. Please mail the completed form and payment to us.
